The beau and I went on a much-needed staycation to Orlando (our second home at this point) this past weekend. As much as we love Miami and all its wonders, it has a strange way of consuming us. Not to mention our mundane jobs and the bullshit that comes with it. Regardless…we are grateful to be able to get away…even if it’s not that far away.
We spent 4 days and 3 nights at our favorite Hotel nestled in the middle of Lake Nona aka the middle of nowhere that is becoming somewhere. It’s away from all the tourist spectacles Orlando is stereotypically known for.
We spent our first night shopping at the outlets, not finding much of anything but a swimsuit from Tory Burch.
The next day we ventured out on a 2 hr road trip to Devils Den Prehistoric Springs in an effort to discover and explore everything our state of Florida has to offer. Mind you…the road to Devils Den was a bit eerie and unsettling but once we arrived the atmosphere seemed more welcoming.
On our last night, we ended up indulging in the tourist attractions at City Walk. Initially we wanted to see how “authentic” the Bob Marley restaurant/tribute was…but, unfortunately we arrived after the kitchen was closed, so we settled at Magaritaville instead. Overall, our staycation was refreshing. Until next time…..
